“A Clean Vessel Fitted For the Master’s Use”

“A Clean Vessel Fitted For the Master’s Use”

– Avril Lawrence

Union Grove-Vessels 400x330Paul metaphorically compares our lives to vessels in 2 Corinthians 4:7.  Vessels that have been awesomely crafted by God, tasked to hold great Treasure, and entrusted into our care.  When something is entrusted to you, you become responsible for it.  You become responsible for its upkeep and maintenance.  God expects us to keep the vessels clean and ready.  Not so much for our own use, but rather for that of the Master!

We’re not vessels tucked away on a shelf for show.  We are functioning, living, and breathing vessels.   Vessels that are NOT without flaw.  Life has chipped, defaced, and marred us along the way.  However, the imperfections should never cause us to lose our functionality or to make excuse.  God is always there; ready and faithful to forgive us, dust us off, polish us back up, and make us continually fitted for His use!

God has entrusted us as His vessels of honor.  There is much work to do, and we must get busy doing it!  Let’s make him proud as we pursue clean, soul-winning, responsible, resourceful, loving, kind lives fitted for the Master’s use!
